After all the stuff that the world has to offer, what will you do when your life comes to an end?
This is a question that demands a response from everyone. Every day, roughly 150,000 people die around the world and slide into eternity not knowing their destination.
Do you know where you will spend eternity?
The Bible says that your days are numbered. This means that one day you will die and you own destination in eternity will become a realization.
So many people spend a lifetime desiring the physical things of this world, but very few stop to think about the spiritual things.
Have you stopped to think about the spiritual life?
The Bible teaches about two very different places in the spiritual realm, Hell and Heaven.
Hell is a real place where a person is eternally separated from God. Also, the Bible describes it as a place of torment and sorrow.
Heaven is a place where a person will spend eternity with God. The Bible describes Heaven as a very beautiful and joyful place full of peace.
Not one serious person will admit that they want to spend eternity in Hell, but everybody will say that they want to go to Heaven.
Do you want to go to Heaven?
The Bible teaches that every single person can go to Heaven. In John 14:6, Jesus says, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. Jesus is saying that the only way you can enter into Heaven is by belief in Him alone. Not by good works, not by good deeds, and not by any other god will you enter the kingdom of Heaven.
By believing in Jesus, a person is confessing that they believe that God sent His only Son into the world to die for our sins. Romans 6:23 says that the penalty for our sins is death. Our righteous God demanded that the penalty be paid, so Jesus died on the cross in place of us for our sins.
Jesus says in Matthew 9:13 that He did not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance. And we know that Romans 3:10 says that there is nobody righteous, no not one. Also, Romans 3:23 says that we have all sinned.
So, the Bible is telling us that because we are not righteous and that we have all sinned against God, that we must repent of our sins. To repent means to feel the pain, sorrow, and regret of your sins and to have a change of mind from them. You need to stop living in sin and seek out righteousness.
It's time to Decide....
Only you can make the decision to follow Jesus Christ or not. You are the only one who can say Yes or No. You can decide to weigh the evidence for Jesus to see if He really is the only way to Heaven, or you can follow the rest of the world and decide that He isn't. Its you choice........
